December- Winter Wonders
December’s projects celebrate the magic of the season through art. The month begins with the creation of handcrafted clay ornaments, shaped and painted to capture the warmth and joy of the holidays. Each piece becomes a small work of art — and is taken home to be proudly hung on Christmas trees.
The next project focuses on watercolor greeting cards, combining soft washes of color with gold and silver accents for a touch of holiday sparkle. Kids create these cards to gift to their loved ones, highlighting the beauty of simplicity and the expressive possibilities of watercolor.
The month concludes with a winter snow panorama on canvas, exploring foreground and background perspective using acrylics. Through layering, contrast, and composition, each snowy scene comes to life — a peaceful reflection of winter’s wonder and artistic imagination.
November- Creative Thanks
November at Kids’ Artiverse has been all about exploring shapes and forms while learning how they come together to create beautiful designs!
Our young artists put their new skills into practice by crafting their own Thanksgiving greeting cards — filled with colorful pumpkins, patterns, and messages of gratitude.
Through this project, children discovered how simple shapes can turn into meaningful art, and how expressing thankfulness through creativity makes their artwork even more special.
October- Spooky Creations
October at Kids’ Artiverse was all about getting our hands messy and imaginations glowing! Our young artists explored the magic of clay by sculpting their very own spooky-cute ghosts — each one designed to hold a tiny tea light that shines at night. They also created pumpkin paintings and other clay creations of their choice, letting their creativity run wild!
Working with clay helps children strengthen their fine motor skills, develop patience, and express their creativity in 3D form. Seeing their ghostly creations come to life (and light up!) was a wonderful reminder of how art can be both fun and full of learning!
September - Adventures in Color
Making a Masterpiece with Only Primary Colors
Week 1 – Primary Colors & The Color Wheel
Learn about primary colors in modern color theory: cyan, magenta, and yellow — the true base colors for mixing all others.
Project: Paint a CMY color wheel using watercolor and the wet-on-wet technique for smooth, beautiful blends.
Practice mixing directly on paper to see colors merge organically.
Week 2 – Tints, Shades & Tones
Discover how adding white, black, or gray changes a color’s mood and depth.
Medium: Acrylic paint for vibrant opacity and layering practice.
Project: Create a gemstone painting in one color, using its tints, shades, and tones for a sparkling, dimensional effect.
"Every perception of color is an illusion"
"Everything changes, even stone"
Week 3 – Color Relationships
Learn analogous colors (neighbors on the wheel), complementary colors (opposites), and warm vs. cool colors.
Medium: Oil pastels — perfect for blending and layering color relationships richly.
Project: Paint or draw the same simple scene twice — one using warm colors, the other cool colors — or create an abstract design emphasizing complementary or analogous harmony.
Week 4 – The Final Color Challenge
Create an original artwork in any subject using only cyan, magenta, yellow, plus white and black.
Medium: Kids may choose any medium or mix of mediums they want — acrylic, watercolor, pastels, collage, etc.
Present the work and explain:
Where complementary colors appear
Where analogous colors appear
How tints, shades, and tones were used
